Whilst reflecting on a Mesopotamian queen’s necklace, an opportunity arose for me to design headwear for the character of Juno in Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’. Juno, queen of the queens, her symbol, a peacock.
This led me to a quote:
‘Birds fascinate me. I’m inspired by a feather but also its colour, its graphics, its weightlessness and its engineering. It’s so elaborate. In fact I try and transpose the beauty of a bird to women’.
